
Congress will consider the annual appropriation bills, including the FY 2022 Transportation Appropriations bill, before government funding runs out on September 30. Congress needs to pass legislation to increase or suspend the debt limit. Democrats will also be working on the reconciliation bill, which committees must produce by September 15. Lastly, both the House and Senate need to pass and reconcile into a single bill the National Defense Reauthorization Act. The Senate returns on September 13 and the House a week later.
