Update on S. 3011, COVID Funding for Infrastructure Legislation
October 22, 2021 by NP Government Affairs

On October 21, NAPA reported that On October 19, the Senate passed S. 3011, the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Fiscal Recovery, Infrastructure, and Disaster Relief Flexibility Act, legislation sponsored by Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Alex Padilla (D-CA) to make several categories of infrastructure investments and disaster relief eligible for unspent COVID-19 relief dollars. The bill specifies that these funds could be reallocated to many highway and transit programs.  It also extends the deadline to utilize relief funding if budgeted for eligible infrastructure projects.

NAPA has contacted Senator Cornyn and Senator Padilla to be listed as a major endorsers of the legislation.

President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and Senate Leader Schumer wrapped up a morning meeting and the pressure is on to bring the IIJA for a vote next week.  NAPA will keep the pressure up and thank you, everybody, for your help on urging support and passage of both IIJA and S. 3011.
