Support the HCBS Relief Act
  1. In October, Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) introduced the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Relief Act and 20 other Democrats. Representative Debbie Dingell introduced the companion bill in the House. This bill would provide 30 billion dollars over two years to provide short-term funding to states to stabilize HCBS service provider networks and increase HCBS reimbursement rates. The bill encourages states to expand self-directed care options and provides funds to encourage states to provide wage increases, bonuses, or other compensation for direct support workers. As the American Rescue Plan funding for HCBS wears off over the next two years, it will be critical to boost the system with additional funding.

A fact sheet has been attached below with more details on the legislation. Please use the action alert to message your Members of Congress urging them to support this bill.
