Advocate for Full Funding for IDEA
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Full Act (HR 4519/ S 2217) provides a glide path to fully fund IDEA.

IDEA authorizes covering 40 percent of the additional cost states pay associated with special education. However, In FY23, Congress funded 12% of the average per-pupil expenditures, leaving states to have to cover the rest. It is critical that Congress acts now to meet the costs of supporting our students with Autism. IDEA provides services and supports to over 7.6 million children with disabilities (approx. 15% of all public school students). Over the last decade, the number of children served by IDEA has grown by 16%. With more and more students being served, it is even more important for Congress to meet their 40 percent.

Use this action alert to write to your Members of Congress now, while Congress is making these funding decisions. Be sure to add personal stories about how important special education is to you and your family.

Thank you for your advocacy!
