H.R.s 5213, 5625, and 6260 are moving through the House of Representatives. Together, these bills would wrongfully punish states and localities for having local laws and practices that replace a system based on wealth with one centered on safety, undermine states’ rights, cut off communities from critical public safety funding, and set the stage for political attacks on targeted jurisdictions.
