About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours

The Iowa Association of Christian Schools (IACS) is pleased to announce a new offering: the Summer Series!

The intent of the Summer Series is to bring high-quality professional development to teachers in faith-based schools across Iowa.

This year’s topic is special education and challenging behaviors and will feature presenters Dr. Kathleen Van Tol, Professor of Education at Dordt University, and Sarah Hawley, Clinical Director of the Dordt University Thrive Center for ABA.

IACS is excited to bring the Summer Series to 3 locations across the state: Calvary Christian Academy in Cedar Rapids June 17, Pella Christian High School in Pella June 18, and Sioux Center Christian School in Sioux Center June 19 (the same workshop presented in 3 different locations) from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM these days.

We thank our sponsors Dordt University Master’s Program, the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education (CACE), and Heartland Christian Schools and invite teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, school leaders, and more to join us to learn helpful research, strategies, and interventions when working with students who have challenging behaviors.

Registration includes all learning materials, swag, breakfast, and lunch, and 1 licensure renewal credit will be available as well for those interested.
