Homeschooling Oversight? Part One

In this first episode, we discuss the issue of homeschooling in Hawai’i and why SB2323 does not accurately characterize Hawaii’s homeschool law or homeschooling community. People in Hawaii’s homeschooling community are overwhelmingly opposed to this bill. This candid discussion will help you understand why, if passed, the bill will require that parents give up important privacy rights before they can exercise their constitutional right to homeschool.

Born in a New England blizzard and raised in the island paradise of Hawaii, Peter is the oldest of five children, all of whom were homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. Peter was the inaugural graduate of Keolahou Christian Academy (est. 1992, by Peter and Rhonda Kamakawiwoole), where he graduated first in his class (of one), earning the honorific of “guinea pig” along the way.
