Abortion health information

National Library of Medicine • An induced abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It can be done two different ways: Medication abortion (also called medical abortion) and Procedural abortion. An induced abortion is different from a spontaneous abortion. That is the loss of a pregnancy before the 20th week of pregnancy. It is more commonly known as a miscarriage.

In this week's episode of the FFF podcast, Jim and Eva discuss the recent Supreme Court decision that has been causing a stir in the media. They carefully discuss the details of the case, which involves a lower-court ruling allowing a state clerk to be sued in a parental notification abortion case. Jim brings up an important point that many people seem to be missing: the case has nothing to do with abortion itself. Instead, it revolves around the proper procedure for notifying parents of a legal case involving a minor. The pregnant teenager seeking an abortion was not required to notify her parents of the procedure, but rather of the hearing. This is a standard practice, regardless of the reason for the case. Join us for a stimulating discussion about this recent ruling.
