Husband killed, wife injured in motorcycle crash with flatbed tow truck

A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed and his wife injured when their motorcycle was hit by a flatbed tow truck on Thursday afternoon in Jackson, authorities said.

Erin Doyle was riding north on Hawkin Road at about 3:15 p.m when a tow truck making a left into the driveway struck his motorcycle, Jackson police said.

Doyle, of New Egypt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:15 p.m. crash. His 47-year-old wife, a passenger on the motorcycle, was hospitalized with a serious leg injury.

The truck driver was not hurt, officials said. The crash remains under investigation.
