Nashville will no longer require face masks to be worn in outdoor settings, the Metro Public Health Department announced.

A new public health order took effect at noon Friday detailing the change. Mask requirements will continue in indoor settings where they were previously required. The health department also recommended that people continue to wear masks in both indoor and outdoor settings where social distancing is not an option.

MPHD announced the change in a tweet on Friday afternoon.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
