Mega Millions ticket worth $1M sold in N.J. for New Year’s Eve drawing

A Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold in New Jersey for Tuesday’s lottery drawing as the jackpot went without a big winner on New Year’s Eve.

The second-prize Mega Millions ticket matched five of the winning numbers but not the Mega Ball drawn. Second-prize tickets worth $1 million were also sold in Florida and Minnesota.

New Jersey lottery officials are expected to reveal the location of the $1 million ticket sale later.

The Mega Millions winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 13, 22, 27, 29 and 35. The Mega Ball drawn was 1, with a Megaplier of 2X.

No one hit the $20 million Mega Millions jackpot, pushing the estimated top prize for Friday’s drawing to $42 million, with a cash option valued at $18.8 million.

The jackpot for Tuesday reset to $20 million after a ticket sold in California hit a $1.22 billion jackpot in the previous drawing.

Last week, a Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold in New Jersey for the Christmas Day drawing.
