For decades, our college campuses have increasingly become hostile to Jewish students in the months since the brutal massacre committed by Hamas on October 7th, we have seen a dramatic and disturbing uptick in antisemitic incidents and antisemitic violence on college campuses across New Jersey. Some of the antisemitic threats New Jersey students have reported include, but are not limited to:
- Being threatened verbally and physically by anti-Zionist and anti-Israel agitators
- Being harassed with antisemitic tropes
- Dealing with faculty and classmates who chant genocidal slogans, such as "From the river to the sea," and "Globalize the Intifada."
- Colleges and Universities, such as William Paterson, Rutgers, and Ramapo have allowed antisemitic campus organizations to operate within their campuses, and, in some cases, have even reinstated them without penalty, allowing them to harass Jewish students trying to simply participate in their studies and daily lives.
- William Paterson supporting and maintaining ties with organizations and institutions that support terrorism
- Rutgers University protecting blood libel as "academic discourse"
We call on Governor Murphy to take action to address the rampant rise in antisemitism we're seeing on our college campuses today and restrict funding to institutions that support terrorism and do not protect Jewish students. #StandUpAgainstAntisemitism #TakeAction #Advocacy
