In 2025, the Utah State Legislature created the Community Association Ombudsman Office, and continued engagement from you and your legislators is essential as this new office begins its work. Throughout the 2025 legislative session, the Utah Legislative Action Committee (UT LAC) actively worked to strengthen HB0217, resulting in a final product with better policy and protections for Utah’s community associations. Now, we are working alongside legislative partners, the bill’s original sponsor, and the ombudsman office on a clean-up bill to clarify the office’s jurisdictional scope and ensure the office functions as intended.
