CAI Maryland – now is the time to act! This is the second message in our coordinate series before the end of the 2026 Maryland legislative session. As a reminder, several bills tracked by the Maryland Legislative Action Committee have survived the state’s crossover deadline and are now before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. At this stage, the MD LAC is focused on a small number of remaining bills that demand an all-hands-on-deck response. 

HB 1529 – Association Registration and Commission in Baltimore County will be heard in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee TOMORROW at 1:00 PM and we need your voice to urge Senators to oppose this bill. As written, HB 1529 would establish a costly new government office and registration requirement for the residents of Baltimore County. If passed, this could cause a ripple effect throughout the state, placing additional obligations on Maryland taxpayers.
