(Update - 04.16.19)
SB 571 has been amended by the Arkansas House of Representatives and sent back to the Senate for concurrence. The amended bill would now enact a 30% sales tax on e-liquid (if the purchase of e-liquid is included in the purchase of any other item, the tax would apply to the entire receipt). SB 571 also now includes a 30% inventory tax (or "floor tax") to be assessed on the effective date of the law. (A similar 40% floor tax in Pennsylvania contributed to nearly a third of vapor retailers in that state to close their doors in 2016.)
With only nine days left in the legislative session, the Senate will be pressured to move this bill quickly. Please take action NOW by sending a message to your lawmakers urging them to REJECT SB 571.
