It is critical to ensure programs are supported in their work to strengthen families by helping caregivers provide an environment where children can thrive, and addressing early family problems that may result in a breakdown of the family unit if left untreated.

Along with this we are also concerned that foster care providers will lose access to mandated insurance coverage. If we do not get state action to ensure adequate insurance coverage options then foster care agencies will lose access to mandated insurance coverage and responsibility would shift to government (local counties) to provide these services. This will result in children and youth, ultimately in the care and custody of the state, and their foster families to experience significant disruptions in their care.
