Prevent Homelessness - Support Increased Funding for Housing & Essential Needs!

The Housing & Essential Needs program (HEN) prevents homelessness by providing rent and utility assistance for adults struggling with a mental health or physical disability. With current funding at $59 million, HEN programs across the state are unable to take on new clients.

The program has not received a funding increase since its creation in 2011! Since then, rents have increased dramatically and so has homelessness. An increase of $13 million would allow the HEN program to start serving more clients and keep the program at pace with statewide rent inflation.

We need support from our legislators for this funding and we need your advocacy to make it happen.
