The Access to Home program provides grants of up to $25,000 for modifications to a home. The program had previously been funded at $5 million. CDR, along with our statewide association, the New York Association on Independent Living (NYAIL) and other Independent Living Centers (ILCs), have pushed for an increase in that funding so that this popular program can be expanded and operate in every county throughout the state. 

In her budget proposal, the Governor instead cut funding to $1 million. In their respective budget proposals, both the Senate and the Assembly restored the funding to $5 million.
