Take action for kids this National Gun Violence Awareness Month
June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month. Did you know that in Wisconsin and in the United States firearm-related injuries are the leading cause of death for children and teens? We recognize that gun violence is a complex issue that requires multiple solutions and a comprehensive approach. There are policies we can advocate for to help prevent injuries and reduce gun deaths among our kids, including: safe storage, comprehensive and universal background checks and creating a process to temporarily limiting firearm access from someone who is at high risk of injuring themselves or others.

State lawmakers are planning their priorities for next year — make sure they have addressing gun violence on their list!
