$810 million for Adult Education in a Final FY24 Appropriations Bill
COABE is working with members of the House and Senate to urge an increase in funding to $810 million for the Adult State Education Grant Program in FY2024, putting the program on a path to doubled funding in the next five years. House Republicans, however, have begun the process of passing funding bills that cut non-defense funding well below the levels called for in the recently enacted debt limit agreement. It is expected that the bill that funds education programs will face a cut of about 30 percent (totaling $60 billion). We need your help in ensuring that adult education funding does not get cut and instead receives a much-needed increase. To gather more support for this COABE priority, please take 5 minutes to urge your members of Congress to provide $810 million for adult education in FY2024. Your voice matters and can make a difference!
