Twelve states have already passed the Convention of States resolution, calling for a convention of the states to propose constitutional amendments that will limit federal spending, limit federal power, and set term limits for federal officials. We need 34 states to get to convention, and there is a strong movement in Nebraska to add Nebraska to that list!
Sadly, the resolution (LR 6, sponsored by Sen. Steve Halloran) failed to gain support from enough Senators this year to prevent a filibuster--even though a recent poll indicates that two-thirds of Nebraska voters support it! When the Senate goes back into session next year, we need to be sure that they will move it forward!
The only way that will happen is if enough of the Senators hear from YOU, their constituents! Please take a moment right now to call your Senator and ask for a commitment to vote for Convention of States.
