Don't Let COVID-19 Infect our Constitutional System!
During times of crisis, such as the current COVID-19 situation, it is more important than ever that we remain vigilant for the protection of our constitutional system of self-governance and federalism.  In times of crisis, it is the natural course of government to expand, often beyond the bounds of the Constitution.

Today, many state governments are doing so, and we should not simply go quietly into the night as our liberty is trampled. Of course, extraordinary measures must sometimes be taken to protect the public health and welfare. It is our job, as self-governing citizens, to make sure these emergency measures don’t go too far. Remember, your rights come from your Creator--not from your government. We need to stand against the infringement of those rights. It is our duty and moral responsibility.

Your attitude matters. Be safe, but be defiant when necessary to preserve fundamental liberties. The government is not your master; it is your servant.

One area for concern is the temptation for state legislatures to yield too much power to the executive branch, allowing governors and unelected bureaucrats to exercise a dangerous degree of power, with relatively few checks and balances. We need to reach out to our state legislators and encourage them to hold the line. They are OUR voice. Let’s make sure they continue to speak for us.

Our free tool will match you to your state legislators and provide sample messaging for you to use when you enter your information on the right.

Stay strong!
