Join us in thanking the Healey Administration for prioritizing biodiversity and environmental protection
On Aug. 21, 2025, the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced a transformative, 25-year biodiversity initiative that will help restore rivers, forests, and habitats across Massachusetts.

This nation-leading plan sets practical yet ambitious goals that would increase climate resilience across the Charles River watershed and beyond. Among the goals listed in the plan are:

✅ Remove over 10% of obsolete dams and restore fish passage in all coastal watersheds by 2050.
✅ Upgrade 2,500 culverts by 2050 to support wildlife, while also reducing flooding risks.
✅ Restore 75% of the most important natural environments by 2050.
✅ Significantly reduce or eliminate CSOs.
✅ Protect over 425,000 acres of essential habitats.
✅ Conserve water during periods of drought.
✅ Build community gardens, parks, and green spaces in every neighborhood.
✅ Eliminate harmful pesticides.
✅ Reducing plastics in our environment.

Please join us in sending thanks to Gov. Healey and her administration for taking this tremendous step to protect the natural environment of Massachusetts and all who call it home.
