Congress is Making Housing Budget Decisions. Make Sure Supportive Housing is a Priority

In the coming weeks Congress will decide the final funding levels for housing vouchers, Continuums of Care (CoC), and other federal programs that make supportive housing possible. 

Supportive housing combines affordable housing with services like mental health care, substance use treatment, and case management. It’s a proven, cost-effective solution that helps people with complex health needs and disabilities live with stability and independence.

With strong federal investment, communities can sustain proven solutions like supportive housing—reducing homelessness, improving health outcomes, and decreasing reliance on costly emergency systems.

Ask your members of Congress to support full funding for supportive housing programs in the FY27 budget and stop further reductions to the CoC program so communities can continue helping people with complex health needs and disabilities find and keep stable housing.
