Join the FY27 Supportive Housing Sign‑On Letter

Sign on to CSH’s FY27 letter urging Congress to fully fund supportive housing and preserve critical CoC investments.

The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) is inviting organizations across the country to sign on to a national letter to Congress urging strong funding and targeted report language in the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill to protect housing stability for people with disabilities.

Housing combined with support services helps people with disabilities break the cycle of homelessness and achieve stability, recovery, health, and independence. Communities rely on federal housing and service investments to sustain these outcomes and support long‑term success. As Congress considers FY27 appropriations, it is critical that these investments are fully funded and that longstanding commitments are preserved.

Through this letter, CSH is urging Congress to:

  • Prevent further reductions to Continuum of Care renewal funding, to maintain stability in existing supportive housing for people with disabilities.
  • Protect long‑term supportive housing properties by allowing optional transitions to more stable forms of rental assistance where appropriate, while ensuring that Continuum of Care funding tied to those properties remains available locally and is not lost through conversion or restructuring.
  • Allow supportive services to be delivered based on assessed needs before and during housing and enabling projects funded solely for services to be reclassified where appropriate without creating gaps in care.
  • Ensure reporting requirements used in the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) remain consistent for continuity of congressional oversight of HUD.
  • Require an independent review of properties nationwide that rely on CoC funded rental assistance to better understand compliance and regulatory implications associated with proposed changes to the CoC program.

These requests emphasize a practical approach focused on proven housing solutions, responsible stewardship of public and private investments, and informed congressional decision‑making that helps people remain stably housed while ensuring supportive housing is available when needed.
