Enter the idea of Life.gov. Both the MOMs Act and The Standing with Moms Act would create a website listing local, state, and federal resources already available for expectant moms and families. This website would help women access the many resources available to them when facing an unexpected or particularly difficult pregnancy.
Such a resource can be lifesaving, especially when one considers the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) vast resources, preexisting intergovernmental relationships, and the credibility intrinsic to a “.gov” address.
This one-stop-shop website would be an indispensable tool for an expectant mom to learn about the public and private resources available in her zip code to assist her throughout pregnancy and afterward. The resources would cover areas of need like health care and OB-GYN services, financial assistance, prepartum and postpartum services, housing assistance and mentorship opportunities.
Ask your Congressmen and Senators to support legislation to support moms and implement Life.gov.
