The amendments to SB26-066 have made positive changes, removing many of the operationally impossible portions of the original bill.
Even with these amendments, we still strongly oppose SB26-066.
This bill used to be about safety, but now it's about setting a precedent.
It's the first Colorado law to single out one specific category of compounded medicine and route enforcement outside the Board of Pharmacy and to the attorney general.
This creates a legislative template.
If this structure becomes law, it paves an easy path for future legislation to target other compounded therapies without the same expert oversight we rely on today.
They want to stand on this bill when they return to fight us once again in the future.
SB26-066 has passed the Senate and will now go before the Colorado House of Representatives Health & Human Services Committee.
We are asking for your help for what we hope is one more time to ensure this precedent is not set in Colorado statute. The House is the final opportunity to stop this bill.
