Congress may fast-track cuts to Medicaid and ACA — Act now
Congress is moving quickly on a budget reconciliation bill right now, with leadership pushing to pass it by June 1. This fast-tracked process could be used to push through deep cuts to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage, putting thousands of Alabamians at risk of losing health care.

This is especially urgent! Budget reconciliation bills can pass with support from just one party, meaning these decisions could move forward without bipartisan agreement. This is the same process that was used last year to make historic cuts to Medicaid and ACA coverage, which have already led to thousands of people losing care and increased hardship in communities across the country.

Medicaid is a lifeline for people across Alabama. It serves children, seniors, people with disabilities and pregnant women. Alabama already operates one of the most bare-bones Medicaid programs in the country. There is no room to cut without directly harming the most vulnerable people in our communities.

We are already seeing the consequences of past cuts, with families struggling to afford doctor visits, medications and basic needs. More cuts would only make things worse, especially as costs continue to rise.

Lawmakers need to hear from you immediately. The window to influence this decision is closing fast.

👉 Take action now: Tell Congress to reject any cuts to Medicaid and ACA coverage.
