Are you a Florida resident? If so, help support children and adults with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in Florida by educating state leaders about the rare neuromuscular disease and asking that they support priorities important to the SMA community.
Even with FDA-approved treatments for SMA, children and adults with SMA continue to face significant health and everyday living needs that impact their ability to learn, work, live, and participate in their communities.
State legislative leaders can help address the needs of individuals with SMA by:
- Strengthening access to caregiving services through Medicaid;
- Promoting accessibility in our state and communities, including playgrounds, parking lots, and restrooms; and
- Supporting the rights of people with SMA in employment, housing, and community living.
TAKE ACTION: Ask your Florida state leaders to address the needs of Florida residents with SMA and their families.
INSTRUCTIONS: when you enter your address information, and click on the "send message" button, the prewritten message will automatically be emailed to your state leaders. No other action is required. However, you can click inside the prewritten message to tailor it with your own connection to the issue, which Cure SMA may use for other advocacy purposes.
