Keep Guns OUT of Missouri Churches - Vote NO on 1708

The Missouri House of Representatives will soon be considering HB 1708, a bill that would allow concealed weapons on public transportation and in our churches.  Currently, Missouri law bans weapons from our churches unless a minister grants their consent.  HB 1708 would reverse that to automatically permit concealed weapons in our churches unless we post signs to the contrary at every possible entrance.  This bill violates the separation of church and state, and the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri opposes this legislation.

Please take a moment right now to contact your representative in the Missouri House and urge them to vote NO on HB 1708.  When you click on the link it will ask you for your contact information including your home address, so they can send your message to the correct legislator.  If you are comfortable doing so, you can call their office in Jefferson City and make an even stronger statement.  You can find your legislator's office number at www.house.mo.gov.

Thanks very much for taking action!
