Last year, the Kansas Legislature took a critical step towards addressing the crisis facing Kansans with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) by adding new slots for the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers AND for the first time in history placing a hard cap on the size of the waitlist! This had an incredibly positive result – the I/DD waitlist was reduced by 20% (dropping from 5,300 to 4,300). While this progress was great, it was only the second time in 9 years that new slots were added to reduce the IDD waitlist! Kansans with I/DD continue to wait 8+ years for HCBS Waiver services.
By taking action TODAY, you can help ensure the Kansas Legislature funds year 2 of a 5-year plan to completely ELIMINATE the I/DD HCBS waitlist over the next 4 years!
Put your information in this form to TAKE ACTION TODAY and tell your legislators to prioritize funding to Eliminate the Wait for I/DD HCBS Waivers!
