Tell Congress – No Cuts to Disability Rights Services. After the Medicaid Cuts, We Need Disability Rights Services More Than Ever!

The Disability Rights Center (DRC) of Kansas strongly condemns the recent passage of the federal “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which includes deep cuts to Medicaid. Medicaid is not wasteful spending—it is a lifeline that empowers people with disabilities to live with dignity, independence, and inclusion in their communities. 

62% Cuts Proposed!!! - Congress is now considering slashing by as much as 62% the very disability rights services that will help seniors and people with disabilities navigate the new changes to Medicaid. 

The 62% cut to Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agencies, like DRC Kansas, will only further injure and endanger seniors and people with disabilities. 

P&As, like DRC Kansas, are the legal and advocacy lifeline for seniors and people with disabilities. When Medicaid services are reduced or wrongly denied, DRC Kansas helps people with disabilities navigate appeals, access support, and stay in their homes. Cutting P&As now would remove the very help people need to survive the damage Congress just inflicted with the cuts to Medicaid.
