Pope Francis In 2007: No Communion For Pro-Abortion Catholic Politicians
The document, which the new Pope presented on behalf of his colleagues at the time and signed of on, referred to abortion and communion, said "we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence', that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion and at the same time act or speak against the commandments, in particular when abortion, euthanasia, and other serious crimes against life and family are facilitated.  This responsibility applies particularly to legislators, governors, and health professionals."  Source here.

Pope Francis on Same-Sex Marriage: 'A Move of the Father of Lies;' 'A Total Rejection of God's Law'

(CNSNews.com) - In 2010, when his native Argentina was considering a proposal to legalize same-sex marriage, Pope Francis I, then archbishop of Buenos Aires, said that the legislation was a total rejection of God's law and an effort by the father of lies to confuse and deceive humanity.

Then-Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio made these observations in a letter to a group of monasteries in Argentina, in which he asked the sisters for their prayers in defeating the same-sex marriage legislation.

A conclave of Roman Catholic cardinals elected Cardinal Bergoglio the new pope on Wednesday, and he took the papal name of Francis.

“In the coming weeks, the Argentine people will face a situation whose outcome can seriously harm the family," then-Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio wrote, according to a July 8, 2010 article in the National Catholic Register.

"At stake is the identity and survival of the family: father, mother and children," said Cardinal Bergoglio. "At stake are the lives of many children who will be discriminated against in advance, and deprived of their human development given by a father and a mother and willed by God. At stake is the total rejection of God’s law engraved in our hearts.”

“Let us not be naive: This is not simply a political struggle, but it is an attempt to destroy God’s plan," said the future pope. "It is not just a bill (a mere instrument) but a ‘move’ of the father of lies who seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God.”  Read more here.

New Pope Francis Called Abortion the "Death Penalty for the Unborn
The archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, has been selected to become the next Pope, leading the Catholic Church. Like his predecessors, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II, he is a staunch pro-life advocate when it comes to abortion.

Last year, then-Cardinal Bergoglio stated, “Abortion is never a solution. We listen, support and understanding from our place to save two lives: respect the human being small and helpless, they can take steps to preserve your life, allow birth and then be creative in the search for ways to bring it to its full development.”

He once called abortion a “death sentence” for unborn children, during a 2007 speech and likening opposition to abortion to opposition to the death penalty.

In an October 2, 2007 speech Bergoglio said that “we aren’t in agreement with the death penalty,” but “in Argentina we have the death penalty.  A child conceived by the rape of a mentally ill or retarded woman can be condemned to death.”  Read more here.

Medical Examiner Confirms 33-Week Abortion Killed Young Woman

The chief medical examiner’s office in Baltimore has confirmed that a botched late-term abortion claimed the life of a young New York women who died recently at a Maryland abortion clinic. Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, a 29-year-old woman from New Rochelle, New York died from a botched 33-week abortion on February 7.

Now the chief medical examiner in Baltimore has confirmed she died when amniotic fluid seeped into her bloodstream, according to new entries on her death certificate. The new entry lists “amniotic fluid embolism following termination of pregnancy” as one of two causes of death. The second is “disseminated intravascular coagulation,” a condition during which small blood cots form in blood vessels.

Newsday has further information on the developments:

The death certificate lists the manner of Morbelli’s Feb, 7 death as “natural.” The other standard categories for manner of death are “accidental,” “homicide” and “suicide.”

A spokeswoman for the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland, which is investigating the Morbelli case, said investigators are still awaiting the full autopsy report, which is typically issued 60-90 days after a death.

The medical examiner had listed the manner and cause of death as “pending” until Wednesday, when further details emerged in the case that has become a cause celebre for abortion foes.

Natural manner of death would not exclude medical malpractice and authorities are waiting for the full autopsy report to make any final decisions concerning their investigation.

Officials with the pro-life group Operation Rescue tell LifeNews the information from the medical examiner is consistent with information provided by a confidential source that Morbelli suffered profuse internal bleeding and hematocrit levels that were “incompatible with life.”

“There can be no doubt now that Jennifer died an avoidable death from abortion complications at the hands of LeRoy Carhart. This is a now case of malpractice and negligence,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We will be announcing our full response to this new information soon.”
As LifeNews reported, papers uncovered in trash bins outside the abortion facility where a woman was killed in a botched late-term abortion are leading to questions about whether she was instructed to not go to a local emergency room after the failed abortion. Read more here.

Susan B. Anthony on Abortion

Susan B. Anthony, whose face is on a U.S. dollar coin, a 3-cent stamp and whose statue is in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, died MARCH 13, 1906

Quoted in The Revolution, July 1869, Susan B. Anthony stated:

"I deplore the horrible crime of child-murder...

No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed. It will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death;

But oh! Thrice guilty is he who...drove her to the desperation which impels her to the crime."  Source and read more here.

Faithful Catholicism Simply Not An Option For CBS

CBS’ liberal bias: When one seminarian expressed his hope that next pope continues the "beautiful legacy of John Paul II and Benedict XVI," Pelley replied incredulously, "But you mentioned two popes who have a reputation for being doctrinally conservative. And this is something you'd like to see carried on?"
