Do you know what it costs?

The most wonderful privilege of my life is serving the families of Tennessee as President of Tennessee Eagle Forum (TEF).
I have been involved with Eagle Forum for about 38 years in three states: Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We moved to Tennessee in August, 1986, and I started at the Capitol in early 1987 and have been there ever since.
The Lord has been gracious and TEF has grown, both in size and in influence. And just as a point of interest, of the 132 state legislators, only four have been there longer than I have!!
With YOUR help, there are statutes in the books that TEF helped to pass and, incidentally, there are NOT some laws in the books that we stopped!!
No other pro-family organization in the state offers the services that TEF offers to its subscribers:
1. We distribute daily e-newsletter on all the most important issues of the day.
2. We now have FOUR Teen Eagle Groups
3. We have an excellent, user-friendly website.
4. When the Tennessee General Assembly is in session, every Saturday morning a Legislative Update goes out to let subscribers know what bills are moving, who to contact, what the message is, etc.
5. We send out special ALERTS on both state and national issues; our system directly connects you to your senators and congressmen.
6. Every two years TEF hosts a spectacular conference where we bring in national experts to speak on the most important topics of the day.
7. Traveling the state to speak to various groups.
As you might imagine, all this activity and success does not come without significant cost. Below you will find a few of the on going costs to run TEF. Please know that we are VERY frugal with the funds that come in to us, but these are some of the expenses that we must fund.
Our excellent VoterVoice email distribution system runs about $2,000 per year
Each year I have to pay the state a $400 'privilege' tax
Annual Lobbyist Registration fee $340
Our annual mail out newsletter runs about $4,000 per year
We financially co-sponsor events with other organizations
We pay to bring speakers in for legislative hearings
Professional printing of some materials like our TEF and Teen Eagle Brochures, flyers for special events, etc.
Just paid $720 for parking coupons
The copier contract is nearly $500 per year
Various fees to the US Treasury, TN Dept of Labor, Secretary of State
We use a lot of supplies preparing packets, notebooks, etc., for legislators.
We have postage to pay
We have a lot of other 'office' expenses; printer toners, copy paper, stationary, envelopes, note paper, etc.
WE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO START THE 2014 LEGISLATIVE SESSION WELL FINANCED FOR THE BATTLE AHEAD.
Will you send your donation today ??
(Because we lobby on your behalf, donations are not tax deductible.)
