Inside this issue
*IMPORTANT*: Can you help me with three things??

Please pray for me.

I will be having hip replacement surgery (Dr. Will Kurtz) tomorrow morning at Centennial Hospital. Provided things go well,  it is expected that I will be there for about three days then I will have rehab.

One of the down sides to this whole thing  is that the 'control freak' NEVER wants to be in situations with no control over process or outcome. Besides, just being in the hospital and having surgery deprives you of all your dignity and privacy!!

Many of you know that I have had a lot of scoliosis pain for many years.  Recently it has gotten much worse, but thanks to the recommendations from the wonderful Dr. Tim Arney,  at Sen. (Doctor) Steve Dickerson's, pain clinic, it is mostly manageable again.

Hip replacement can be a painful surgery and a painful rehab.  I am not a pain coward, as anyone who knows about my back knows, but I believe this pain will be very different and very acute, especially in the early days.  I also know the harder I work, the faster I can get back to my 'wonderful life', so I plan to work hard!

My two most important goals -- DO NOT LAUGH -- are:  To be able to put my hose on and to drive my stick shift car!! Then I can get back to life!!  Through wonderful friends, I have made excellent connections that have provided me with a great deal of information and the competent care that I needed!!  And I have watched God work out many details as we approach Thursday and I am very grateful.

My post-surgery verses!!

Psalm 37:23-24

23 The Lord makes firm the steps
    of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Needless to say for awhile I will be unable to get the daily newsletter out, but will get back to work as soon as I am able.  In the meantime, I have two other requests.

Obviously, I will not be able to be out and around the state this summer to speak and raise money.

I just had to pay our annual invoice for VoterVoice of $2,000.  VoterVoice is the wonderful email system we use to stay in touch with our members and subscribers. Also, I recently had to pay my 'privilege' tax of $400.  Now I agree that it it s privilege to represent the families of TN at the State Capitol, but it is pretty expensive to do so. Last but not least, our annual copier contract will soon be due and that runs just under $500.

Would you send a donation (not tax deductible) TODAY to help us pay for these important expenses?

You can send a check to 3216 Bluewater Trace, Nashville, TN 37217 or go to our website http://tneagleforum.org/ and use the PayPal link down on the left side of the page.

I would LOVE to come home with these expenses all covered!!

During this time would you PLEASE help me recruit new subscribers??  This is an election year and Tennessee Eagle Forum has a unique service to offer to the people of the State.  Since I won't be able to be out as much as usual this summer, would YOU help me with this task?  It is very easy.  You can just forward one of these daily emails and urge the recipient to click on the JOIN HERE link in the top right hand corner, or you can suggest they go to our website  and click on the REGISTER HERE graphic.

Also, Tennessee Eagle Forum sends out an Issue Questionnaire to all the candidates for the State Senate and the State House.  Those went into the mail last week--the questionnaire is now posted on our website http://tneagleforum.org/ under ELECTION INFORMATION.  A chart with the answers to these questions is being prepared and will posted in due time.  You will want to share this with friends too.
