Telehealth can be an essential tool to help Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) deliver safe, timely nutrition care, especially for older adults, people with disabilities, individuals in rural areas, and those with transportation or mobility barriers.
Your voice is needed to ensure Medicare telehealth flexibilities are not only extended but made permanent. The CONNECT Act makes certain telehealth flexibilities permanent, and there is a second bill addressing extension of telehealth flexibilities through September 30, 2027: The Telehealth Modernization Act. Supporting both bills gives health care providers two opportunities to advocate for continuity of care for telehealth services beyond the short-term Continuing Resolution bills.
Contact your Members of Congress today and urge them to remove barriers to telehealth by supporting the Connect for Health Act.
The CONNECT for Health Act would make the Medicare telehealth flexibilities that were expanded during the Public Health Emergency permanent by:
- Removing geographic restrictions and expanding originating sites to include the patient's home;
- Permanently allow health centers and rural health clinics to provide telehealth services;
- Collecting data to learn more about telehealth utilization and it's impact on quality of care.
