"Invest in Teachers" Act Faces a Critical Vote
Lots of people talk about valuing teachers. Now it's time to act. California has an historic opportunity to invest in teachers in a big way.
But it won't happen if your legislators don't hear from you. Send your state senator and members of a key Senate committee a letter of support today.
SB 807, the "Invest in Teachers" Act, helps new teachers cover the cost of training and allows teachers who stay in the classroom more than five years to keep more of their hard earned money.
The time to act is now as the teacher shortage in California has reached critical levels with over 150,000 students being taught by untrained adults. The bill sends great teachers a loud and clear message that they matter, makes mandatory training more affordable, and encourages great teachers to stay in the classroom.
Despite polling that demonstrates 72% of voters support the "Invest in Teachers" Act, politicians in Sacramento won't act unless they hear from constituents like you.
Please take a quick moment to contact your state senator directly by clicking here. It could be the difference between SB 807 passing this critical first test, or falling just short. The time is now for California to stand up for great teachers in every classroom.
Thank you for taking the time to make a difference for California school kids.
Bill Lucia, President
