Tell Congress and the NJ Legislature to Remember People with Disabilities in the Coronavirus Response
Advocates,

As our nation responds to the threat posed by the Coronavirus, Congress and the New Jersey State Legislature are taking action to address this pandemic. If you haven't already, please use the action center linked in this email to reach out to your members of Congress and the Legislature to remind them to ensure that the needs of those with disabilities are taken into account when they work on Coronavirus response and relief legislation.

Individuals with disabilities, whether developmental, intellectual, physical, emotional or psychological are particularly vulnerable to this disease. Their care must be assured during the difficult weeks and months that lie ahead. We will get through this time, and we will overcome this challenge; but we must work to protect the lives of those who need our help the most as well.

Please also regularly check our COVID-19 page to receive the latest updates from Easterseals New Jersey. You can also read our blog post which has some great information oh how COVID-19 impacts people with disabities and what we can do to respond effectively.

Additionally, be sure to follow all recommendations and guidance provided by the CDC and your state, county & local public health officials. Stay safe, be smart, and practice social distancing. Thank you for your time and your advocacy, please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jacob Caplan
