Since April 2023, Sudan’s conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. More than 14 million have been displaced, 3 million have fled, and over 150,000 have been killed. In Darfur and El Fasher, entire communities are being targeted for ethnic cleansing, starvation, and mass killing.
The international community cannot stay silent. The United States must lead efforts to stop this genocide and deliver aid to millions in need.
Tell your Senators to support two vital pieces of legislation that strengthen U.S. action on Sudan:
- S.935: Introduced by Senator Van Hollen, this bill would prohibit U.S. arms sales to the UAE until it ends support for the RSF
- S.Res.126: Introduced by Senator Booker, this resolution calls upon the United Nations to expand the existing arms embargo on Darfur and extend it to cover all of Sudan to help stop the flow of weapons.
Sudanese lives should not be lost just so foreign nations can profit. We must do more to protect the Sudanese and hold those who are fueling the devastation accountable.
