The House has passed its version of the FY2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), but the process isn't over. The Senate will now consider its own version before both chambers negotiate a final bill.

What's Inside the Bill?

The House bill retains Section 219, the United States–Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative, which would expand U.S.–Israel defense cooperation across research, development, production, procurement, artificial intelligence, cyber capabilities, missile defense, and other emerging technologies.

The bill also includes SAVE America Act language that would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections—a requirement voting rights advocates warn could make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to register and vote.
