North Carolina: Take Action to Prevent Cancer Risk in Dense Breasts

Mammography diagnostic technology to detect cancer in dense breasts is more difficult because cancer and dense tissue both appear white on a mammogram. Women with dense breasts are at a higher risk for cancer and should not be discriminated against by lack of health insurance coverage parity or lack of appropriate imaging to diagnose early breast cancer. Accurate annual mammograms is the best prevention and provides information to patients and physicians, so they can make appropriate health care decisions.  Lives are at risk.  Act Now!!  Contact your State Senator and request passage of HB560 Diagnostic Imaging Parity.
