The Environmental Justice Workgroup Convening’s purpose is to set the policy priorities and plan advocacy for the passage of an Environmental Justice Bill for the state of Georgia.
An EJ bill will:
-Cement the practice of equal protection and response to environmental harms and hazards, -Establish prevention and enforcement of mitigation measures through state and local governments, communities, citizens, industries and agencies by partnering to promote healthy communities, along with clean and safe ecosystems, and -Apply adopted measures throughout the state of Georgia, regardless of county, race, income, urban and rural communities.
