Take Action Today to Stop New York’s Overreach on HFCs

Your voice is critical. Tell the State Assembly and Senate that NYSDEC’s refrigerant rule goes too far, and to support S9066 and A9596 for balanced, practical refrigerant regulation.

NYSDEC’s amended HFC regulation (6 NYCRR Part 494) is the most restrictive in the country and will disrupt refrigerant supply chains, drive up costs, and hurt small businesses and consumers across the state.

Instead of addressing the real-world impacts of the rule on our industry, NYSDEC and its allies are trying to confuse the issue.

If this rule stands, it sets a dangerous precedent for how environmental regulations to be made behind closed doors and with little regard for economic impact.

About Part 494:

  • Bans virgin refrigerants from being purchased for use in New York
  • Bans equipment installations faster than the Federal transition
  • Forces a second equipment transition in less than 10 years
  • Ignores the safety of you and your customers
