HB 5507 - Initially, it was about Illinoisans being able to change genders on government documents from another state or country. This proved to be a more complicated initiative than the left anticipated. Therefore, it was amended to allow Illinoisans to go to court to get a “finding of fact” to change their birth certificates (only) in another state or country. It’s still a terrible bill and still promotes a terrible lie.

This bill passed out of the Illinois House on April 17th by a vote of 73 to 38. This bill is now in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Please let your local state senator know that you oppose this bill.
