SB 1560 - School Mental Health Screening Starting in Grade 3
SB 1560 has passed the Senate and a House committee. Rep. Linsdey LaPointe (D) is the house sponsor.

It requires the Illinois State Board of Education to implement universal mental health screening in schools in grades 3 through 12 at least once a year.

Although ISBE would bring in "professionals" to implement the screenings, we don't trust that the "professionals" values would align with Christian values. For example, these professionals would likely agree with what is currently being taught in public schools: feelings are more important than biology, a boy can become a girl, abortion is the preferred option to pregnancy, and X-rated sex ed. The schools should be focusing on academics, of which they are currently doing a horrible job.

The bill is vague and the rules and procedures won't be decided until after it's passed into law. It's an invasion of privacy and not scientific. What role parents will even have, if any, is yet to be determined.

Urge your state representative to oppose SB 1560.
