Across our nation, chemical abortions have become an increasingly common means of taking the lives of pre-born babies. Today, abortion-inducing drugs account for a significant share of abortions in the United States, with hundreds of thousands of pre-born babies killed each year through chemical abortion.
Beyond the statistics are real women facing difficult circumstances, often without adequate medical oversight or support. The growing practice of distributing abortion drugs through mail-order channels has prompted important questions about patient safety, informed consent, and regulatory accountability. Policymakers should carefully examine whether current federal policies are adequately protecting women and ensuring compliance with existing laws.
Illinois Family Institute has joined with partners across the country to encourage concerned citizens to engage with their elected representatives on this issue. Congress should hear from Americans who believe women deserve greater protections and that federal agencies must be held accountable for policies that enable the widespread distribution of abortion-inducing drugs.
Will you take a moment today to contact your members of the U.S. House of Representatives and urge him/her to support measures that strengthen oversight of mail-order abortion practices and protect both women and pre-born babies?
Together, we can advocate for policies that uphold the sanctity of human life, promote accountability, and support the well-being of women and families across our state and nation.
