Reinstate the Parental Notice of Abortion Act
On December 17, 2021, Governor JB Pritzker signed HB 370 into law, effectively usurping parental rights in Illinois. This was done at the behest of abortion activists and left-wing lawmakers who lobbied for years in Springfield to repeal the Illinois Parental Notification of Abortion Act — which required girls 17 and younger seeking an abortion to notify a parent or get approval from a judge to bypass the requirement.

What does this mean?

  1. Parents or guardians will never know if their daughter has become pregnant and had an abortion unless their daughter shares the information.
  2. If their daughter is having multiple abortions, the parents will not know.
  3. If their daughter is being sexually abused by an older man, and the parents are not notified of the abortion, they cannot investigate as to who the father is and therefore cannot come to the aid of their daughter. This repeal enables abuse of minor girls.
  4. Parents or guardians will not be able to help protect their daughters and the lives of their pre-born babies.

DO NOT REMAIN SILENT on this encroachment of parental rights!! Please speak out frequently to the governor and your state lawmakers. Let them know that gutting or repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act was unacceptable. Ask them to reinstate the law and instead uphold parental rights.
