OPPOSE SB 42- Cannabis Use While Driving
SB 42 - Curtis Tarver (D) - House sponsor: Prohibits law enforcement from stopping and inspecting a car based on the odor of cannabis and removes the requirement of storing cannabis in an odor-proof container during transportation. This will put more intoxicated drivers on the road, increasing the potential of more accidents and fatalities.

It also adds to the Fentanyl crisis. Because a substantial amount of marijuana is being laced with Fentanyl, and Fentanyl is the number one killer of teens, this bill impedes law enforcement from stopping Fentanyl trafficking.

Furthermore, it prohibits law enforcement from searching a vehicle for marijuana if the vehicle contains one person who is 21 years of age, even if the rest of the passengers are teens.

This ridiculous bill passed in the Senate and a House committee. Urge your state representative to OPPOSE SB 42.
