OPPOSE SB 3138, SFA #1 - Adds LGBTQ Influence to Children's Mental Health Partnership
SB 3138 - has passed out of the Illinois Senate by a vote of 37 to 18 and is now pending consideration in the Illinois House.

This bill expands LGBTQ participation in the state's Children's Mental Health Partnership from advisory capacity to reviewing data, monitoring policy and coordinating programs for children's mental health. 

It adds LGBTQ membership requirements built around diversity of sexual orientation while also reshaping the board structure. It takes a group that monitors and makes suggestions occasionally to state agencies (particularly IL State Board of Education) and adds teeth to it so CMHP is larger, carries more weight, and is much more woke.
