Abortion activists and left-wing lawmakers in Springfield are making the repeal the Illinois Parental Notification of Abortion Act — which requires girls 17 and younger seeking an abortion to notify a parent or get approval from a judge to bypass the requirement — a top priority for the Spring 2020 session. What does this mean?
- Parents or guardians will never know if their daughter has become pregnant and had an abortion unless their daughter shares the information.
- If their daughter is having multiple abortions, the parents will not know.
- If their daughter is being sexually abused by an older man, and the parents are not notified of the abortion, they cannot investigate as to who the father is and therefore cannot come to the aid of their daughter. This repeal enables abuse of minor girls.
- Parents or guardians will not be able to help protect their daughters and the lives on the pre-born babies.
Contact your state lawmakers. Let them know that gutting or repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act is an unacceptable. Ask them to oppose any and all efforts to repeal or amend the law and instead uphold parental rights. Please pray for our state lawmakers. Pray they will choose to vote for life and not death. Pray that Christian citizens of Illinois will engage on this issue, and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
